Kayla Frimer (she/her)
Chief of Staff, Backline
Kayla Frimer is Chief of Staff at Backline, a nonprofit providing mental health and wellness resources to music industry professionals and their families, where she oversees Development, Programming, and Operations to drive organizational impact. To date, Backline has invested over $5 million into the music industry community and created more than 3,000 custom care plans through its Case Management program. In January 2026, Backline launched B-LINE, a 24/7 mental health and crisis support line created exclusively for the music industry (call 855-BLINE99 or text 254-639 to get connected). Throughout her career, Kayla has sought to put her strategic and operational skills toward work that matters, and at Backline, that commitment finds its fullest expression in service of the people who make the music industry run.
She built her operational foundation producing high-profile experiential marketing activations for NBC, E!, TNT, and Planet Fitness, earning a Silver Reggie Award in 2016 for her work on Raw Craft with Anthony Bourdain. That foundation led her to WeWork, where she led the Creator Awards, a global initiative that awarded over $20 million in grants to entrepreneurs and nonprofits across 16 international events.
She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Music Business at NYU in 2019, where she supported the production of Willie Nelson's Fourth of July Picnic (named Best Virtual Event by The Austin Chronicle), Welcome Back Willie at Luck Ranch, Luck Summit, and Harry Belafonte's 90th Birthday Celebration
